Middleton 'Bright Ideas':

Leeds Music History Project-

Have you ever thought

that there had never been

a recognised music scene in Leeds?

Well, through this project, we want to re-address this perception and show that the City has produced some of the finest and most respected bands, musicians, venues, producers and people associated with the music industry, in the country, if not the World! We are organising an exhibition of work with photos, articles, interviews and posters from the scene over the past 40 years. Not only do we want to include some of the more obvious people, but some of the unsung heroes during this time who may not have received the recognition within Leeds of their work in music. We hope that this project will lead on to a published work which will then be added to continuously in the future. Please contact us if you would like to be involved.

Youth Mentoring Scheme

We have just successfully completed the first mentoring scheme, aimed at improving the life chances of young people (16-25 yrs) in challenging circumstances through music-based mentoring, administered by Leeds City Council and funded by Youth Music.

If you want to work with other musicians, develop your music skills, and perform in a live band at the end of a 10 week course, get in touch. Due to start end July 2010.
